Turning a picture into a skin
You can’t just shrink a picture to 64 × 64 and call it a skin. The skin file is an unfolded template where the front, back, sides and top of every body part sit in different places. This tool places your image on the right parts and fills in the sides and back for you.
It works best with drawings, logos and characters. Photos lose most of their detail at this size, so expect to touch them up.
How to use it

Upload a PNG, JPG or WebP. A front-facing, full-body image on a plain background gives the cleanest result.

Drag and resize it until the face, body and legs line up with the guide, and choose how it wraps around the sides.

Check it in 3D, pick Classic or Slim arms and download the PNG.
Good to know
- Simple shapes and flat colors survive the shrink much better than gradients or fine detail.
- A transparent PNG avoids a colored halo around the character.
- Open the result in the Skin Editor to clean up the face and hands pixel by pixel.
Frequently asked questions
64 × 64 or 128 × 128?
64 × 64 works in Java and Bedrock. 128 × 128 is an HD skin for Bedrock only and won’t work in Java.
Is my image uploaded?
No. It’s converted in your browser and never leaves your device.
The face looks off. What can I do?
Make sure the face sits inside the head area in the 3D preview. A source image that faces forward helps a lot.
Is it free?
Yes. No account or install needed.
Can I use a photo of myself?
You can, but at 64 × 64 a photo turns into a handful of pixels. Crop it to a full-body shot on a plain background and plan to touch up the face afterwards.
Can I edit the result?
Yes. Download the PNG and open it in the Skin Editor to fix details pixel by pixel.
