Everything is calculated in your browser. Java seeds use the exact signed 64-bit value when you enter a number, while text seeds follow Minecraft's Java-compatible hashing behavior. Bedrock does not need a seed for slime chunk positions because its pattern is seed-independent, but an optional seed loads the matching vanilla terrain background.
How to Find Slime Chunks

Choose your edition
Select Java Edition for seed-specific slime chunk locations, or Bedrock Edition for the fixed slime chunk pattern shared by every world.

Enter your world seed for Java Edition. In Bedrock Edition, slime chunk locations are fixed, so the optional seed is only used to display the matching vanilla terrain background.

Find a slime chunk
Explore the map or jump to your X and Z coordinates. Select a green chunk to view its exact block boundaries and choose a location for your slime farm.
Slime Chunk Spawning Rules
Finding a slime chunk is only the first step. For a slime farm, build spawning platforms below Y=40, usually at Y=39 or lower. The area also needs enough clear space, and the player must be within the correct spawning and simulation range. Nearby hostile mobs can fill the mob cap and reduce slime spawns.
Slimes in slime chunks are not restricted by light level. This is different from swamp spawning, which follows separate biome, altitude, light and moon-phase rules and is not shown by this tool.

Do I need a seed for Bedrock Edition?
No. Bedrock slime chunk positions do not depend on the world seed. You can still enter a seed to load the matching vanilla terrain background on the map.
What seed formats are supported in Java Edition?
The finder supports signed 64-bit numeric seeds and text seeds. Numeric seeds are kept at full precision, while text seeds are converted using Minecraft's Java-compatible String hash.
At what Y level do slimes spawn in slime chunks?
Slimes can spawn in slime chunks below Y=40, which means Y=39 and lower. Spawn space, player distance, simulation distance, nearby mobs and the mob cap can still affect slime spawning.
Why are slimes not spawning in my slime chunk?
Finding the correct slime chunk does not guarantee immediate spawns. Make sure your spawning area is below Y=40, has enough space and is within the correct player and simulation distance. Nearby hostile mobs can also fill the mob cap. Light level does not prevent slimes from spawning in slime chunks.
Are slime chunks available in every dimension?
The slime chunk mechanic applies to the Overworld. The Nether and End use different mob spawning rules, so this finder intentionally maps only Overworld chunks.
